We took the SUV everyone is talking about into the Empty Quarter for 1,200 kilometers.

The Urus S is a contradiction: a 657 horsepower super-SUV that — somewhere between Liwa and the Saudi border — turned out to be a perfectly competent dune machine. Air suspension lifts give it ground clearance. The Sand mode loosens stability control without disabling it. The V8 sings willingly past 4,000 rpm.
We came expecting an autobahn car forced into a sandbox. We left with a deeper respect for what Sant'Agata has actually built.
